The Soldier's Wife - Pattern $8.75 ppd -
Order Now!The Soldier's Wife was inspired by a very old antique quilt that I saw. I had never seen this setting before and while it looks like the blocks are on point, it is actually a straight set quilt! It is a terrific two-color quilt and would look awesome in any colors you may like. I have been reading a lot of quilt history of late, and named this quilt for the many wives (then & now) who waited for their husbands to return from the war, all the while not knowing what was happening to them. While waiting for word, these women worked on quilts to busy their minds, perhaps on a quilt just like this one! This quilt measures approximately 83" x 83".

Lucky Day is a Moda Layer Cake™ friendly pattern. You sure don't have to use a Layer Cake! You can cut 10 inch squares of your favorite fabrics, add a pretty neutral and your all set. However, those Moda Layer Cakes are just too fun and this quilt is big on design and features very easy piecing! Lucky Day was made using the Wildflower Serenade I fabric collection by Lynne Hagmeier for Kansas Troubles Quilters. This quilt measures approximately 48" x 48".

Sometimes I get an idea for a quilt just from loving the fabrics and that is how Summer Cottage came to be. I purchased the red floral fabric and one thing lead to another and... well that's how this quilt came to be! I chose some fabrics from Lecien's Mrs. March Antique Rose line, a wonderful reproduction style collection. Once the quilt was together, it almost has a shabby chic look to it and I could picture myself on a porch swing at a lake house, (I wish!) hence the name. This quilt measures approximately 78" x 78".

I wanted to design a quilt that could be pieced rather quickly because, like most of you, I sometimes need a quilt, and quick! But... it was important that it have a simple design, was pretty and used fabrics I could gather easily. Ah ha! Use either Moda charm packs or a Moda Layer Cake™ along with some additional yardage for the borders!! That's how Done in a Jiff came to be. Cut a bunch of squares, minimal piecing and a bit of additional yardage for a few borders and Voila! No matter what Moda collection you use, it will work! Of course, you can choose your own fabrics right from your stash. No matter what, the name says it all!!! It will be Done in a Jiff!! The quilt measures approximately 61" x 61".

Guess what? There is only one simple block needed to make the entire center of this quilt called Made in America . By turning the block you get this neat secondary design. A few well placed half square triangles and the design continues into the border. Easy... really! Made in America is a quilt made from 3 charm packs & additional yardage. I used the Flag Day Farm collection by Minick & Simpson for Moda. The quilt measures 30" x 30".
Oh... I've always wanted to do a small Trip Around the World quilt. I was inspired to make this from the Holly Taylor fabric line Frosted Memories for Moda. Small World is made using 2 charm packs & additional yardage for the border. It goes together in a snap! I have also included a chart and directions so you can make this quilt from any colors in any fabrics of your choosing. This quilt measures approximately 36" x 36".
Endless Summer has a fun and easy star block. Made with strips and connector corners, construction is rather simple, but looks hard. I love that! Gather 3 charm packs and additional yardage and you're on your way no matter what the collection. In case you are wondering, I used the Beach House collection by Blackbird Designs for Moda. The name Endless Summer comes from being a kid (a long time ago!) and enjoying the summer off of school. Didn't you want summer to last forever? This quilt measures approximately 37" x 37".
No Place Like Home - Pattern $6.75 ppd -
Order Now!Surprise! Four different Flying Geese units are all you need to make this quilt! Really! How fun and easy is that? No Place Like Home uses 3 charm packs & additional yardage of the Kansas Troubles Quilters collection Kansas Winter. I wholeheartedly agree with Dorothy that there really is no place like home! This quilt measures approximately 32" x 32".

I do love the old fashioned look of a quilt featuring setting bars! Grandma's Attic is my first design with setting bars and the Louisa fabric collection designed by Terry Clothier Thompson for Moda was a great match. There are so many wonderful reproduction collections that have beautiful stripe fabrics which are showcased so well in a setting bar. The block is very easy to make. Turning every other row so the blocks face the opposite direction creates movement and interest in the quilt. Choose lovely reproduction fabrics and the quilt is done in no time! This quilt measures approximately 38" x 43".

Prairie Winds is made using a block I dearly love called Ribbon Quilt! It was perfect for a 5" charm square! This quilt honestly would be so cute made from any and all fabric collections. I chose to make mine from the Wildflower Serenade II collection designed by Lynne Hagmeier for Kansas Troubles Quilters for Moda. The block has very easy construction, and they create the fun secondary pattern of twisting ribbons. Wildflower seeds are sewn because of the prairie winds and that is how it got its name! The quilt measures approximately 25" x 30".
